Basic Leadership & Civic Education Programme (BLCEP)

Programme Overview

BLCEP is a 5-day intensive leadership skill development and civic participation program targeted at Senior secondary school students that have demonstrated leadership and service potential with the hope that these students can be groomed to play active leadership roles in society and inspire their peers to a higher level of moral and ethical participation in society affairs.

During the five days intensive programme, participants will be taught basic leadership skills by experienced facilitators on Personality Development, Communication, Interpersonal Relationship, Civic Participation, Group Dynamics/ Relationship building and Community Service. Participants will carry out outdoor and team building activities, case studies and group assignments. Most importantly these emerging leaders will have opportunity of being linked to mentors and join a network of future leaders for continuous development.

Target

Senior secondary school students who are Prefects or playing any form of leadership role. Selection to participate in the programme is by application endorsed by the respective school principals.

Class size

Each class size will be a maximum of 50 participants.

Application

Call for applications from prospective applicants will commence in February and close on 30th April of every year. Participants are accepted by a competitive application process. The programme is a fully sponsored one. Successful candidates will be notified latest 30th April.
