The Ministry of Finance of India abandoned plans for the introduction of DLT in the banking industry

TVL in Defi protocols decreased by 70% per year

Full tank #12. Hyundai Santa Fe Test

Full tank #12. Hyundai Santa Fe Test

It's Saturday, which means it's time for our automotive column. Today we’ll talk about the fourth-generation Korean mid-size SUV Hyundai Santa Fe. A machine that draws attention to itself with a new unusual and very bold design.

The new Santa Fe is distinguished by three-tier optics, daytime running lights are located at the top, main headlights are below, and foglights are traditionally at the very bottom. This placement of optics looks impressive, narrow slots of running lights, together with the wide mouth of a large radiator grille, make the appearance of the car predatory, which, of course, many people like. But the placement of the main LED headlights on the second tier, of course, is not very ergonomic. If you don’t pay much attention to this in the summer, then in the winter, after driving a little through the Moscow mud, they instantly get dirty, and they don’t have washers. And it's okay to be left without electricity in the city, which is unpleasant, but not so critical, but on the highway it is fraught with consequences.

The taillights can also be LED, they also look spectacular and in design make the Santa Fe look like the new X5. From unusual moments, I note that the manufacturer moved the rear direction indicators to the lower part of the bumper, and if someone in a large car drives up to you too close, they will no longer see your turn signals.

For the exterior design, the Korean manufacturer can be given a solid five, the car turned out to be very interesting in appearance, but it was not worth sacrificing ergonomics for this, for sure it was possible to somehow more accurately resolve the issue with the head optics, and the rear turn signals should not be removed so low.

Reality and prospects of the IT professions market

What professions are the most popular and highly paid?

Review of the smartphone Samsung Galaxy A22s 5G (SM A226B/DSN)

A niche smartphone with 5G support for minimal money – it's not even on the Samsung website, but it's sold in Russia. Compare with Galaxy A22 – is it worth the money?

Kia Picanto test. The last of the city cars

Somehow imperceptibly, almost all compact city cars left Russia, which replaced compact class sedans and liftbacks like Hyundai Solaris and Skoda Rapid. There are always two real city cars left on our market, this is the hero of our material Kia Picanto and Chevrolet Spark, along with its counterpart under the Ravon brand.

TCL TW30 MoveAudio S600 TWS headphones review

Any decent smartphone manufacturer is bound to offer their own TWS headset with them. So TCL introduced in December on the Russian market not only a flagship smartphone, but also a flagship headset. Let's see what happened .

The interior of the new Hyundai Santa Fe is as beautiful as the exterior. A complex multi-tiered design of the front panel, rounded upper edges of the doors passing to the front panel (although we have already seen such a solution in the new Infiniti QX50), a neatly inscribed protruding display of the media system. The materials are also pleasantly pleasing, here is soft plastic, artificial and natural leather and decorative inserts made of wood, or it is a very good imitation. But, in my opinion, the interior still lacks some lightness, the interior details are somehow too bulky, a little rough, due to which the space is visually eaten up. But despite this, I still think that the interior of the new Santa Fe looks good and at least not boring.

In the maximum configuration, the manufacturer installs a large screen in the dashboard, but this is not a fully virtual dashboard, like other manufacturers, but a kind of transitional stage. The tachometer, fuel level and engine temperature are made in the classic analog style, but in the center there is a regular 7-inch rectangular display, which has plastic inserts on top and bottom and The manufacturer tried to hide it with graphic design. Information is read from the display without problems in any conditions, since the screen is recessed deeply and the bright sun is not a hindrance to it. A lot of information can be displayed on the screen, for example, on the operation of active cruise control, navigation system tips, all data from the on-board computer and information about the operation of all-wheel drive. But for some reason, calls cannot be controlled from such a large display on the dashboard and a list of radio stations is not displayed – it would seem a banal option, but, apparently, for the sake of unification with simpler versions, the manufacturer did not fully integrate the media system. Yes, the screen also displays an icon of speed limit signs, but it seems that the system does not take data from cameras, but from a navigation map.

The central display of the media system has a diagonal of 8 inches, touch control, but on the sides of it there are hardware buttons for quick access to the main menu items, as well as sound knobs and radio station settings. The picture quality is good, plus there is a good oleophobic coating, so the screen does not get dirty so quickly. The drawing of the interface is not the best, but most of the icons are large, and you can easily get into them when you click. The system also works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you can live. Santa Fe's own navigation can deal with traffic jams if you connect your smartphone, but like many regular maps, it does not know the roads that were open even a year ago. If you click on the icon with the house while navigation is running, the screen will be divided into two parts, in the left window there will be a map, and in the right window you can display, for example, FM radio or another sound source. There are two USB connectors in the front of the cabin, the main one is in the center, and next to it, under the plug, is an additional one for recharging devices, by the way, it is quite powerful, and with its help it is quite possible to recharge a modern smartphone during the trip. In expensive configurations, the media system is equipped with acoustics from the American company KRELL, which consists of an external amplifier and ten speakers, including a subwoofer. The audio system sounds good, and it looks very impressive.

Climate control is dual-zone, has a separate display and temperature adjustment knobs. The climate works well, cooling the interior in the heat, while not including a constant strong airflow. For summer, a good option is the presence of a three-level ventilation of the seats, and for winter there is a three-level heating of the front seats, heated rear seats and steering wheel heating. Moreover, the heating or ventilation system of the car can turn on automatically at a certain external temperature.

If you order a third row of seats, it comes with a separate climate control unit, as well as an easy access feature that includes the ability to quickly slide and fold the second row seats at the touch of a button. But climbing into the third row is still not very convenient, you sit on the floor, your legs are higher than your ears, and your head rests on the ceiling. Since there are no Isofix mounts on the gallery, children cannot be put there either, except perhaps teenagers, but they will not sit there for a long time, they will grow up a little and will complain that they are uncomfortable there. But the new Hyundai Santa Fe has a chic second row of seats, on the floor of which there is no tunnel, so three adults can sit there without any problems. With a height of 187 cm, I calmly sit down behind myself, and there is still a margin in my knees, and the ceiling does not put pressure on my head. There is no separate climate control for the rear passengers, only air deflectors, but there are two USB connectors for recharging gadgets.

When ordering the third row of seats, the trunk of the car is slightly reduced from 625 to 547 liters (with the seats of the 3rd row folded down), with the seats unfolded, it becomes already 130 liters. The trunk is roomy with a flat floor, in the underground there is a place for a roller blind, if it is not needed, and there was also a place for a full-fledged spare wheel, even if it is attached from below. The trunk has an electric drive, you can open it either from the passenger compartment, or from the button on the key, or just stand next to it for about 6-7 seconds, and it will open itself.

The front seats look interesting, upholstered in soft-touch leather, and the driver's seat has full power adjustments. The seats are moderately hard with good lateral support, you don’t get tired in them on long trips, so in this regard, the Koreans are great. For me, it turned out to be a minus that the steering wheel adjustment for reach was a little lacking, here's a couple more centimeters, and I could get really comfortable behind the wheel of the new Santa Fe. And this despite the fact that my landing was high and vertical, lower the chair a little more and recline the back, and I would have to keep the steering wheel constantly at outstretched arms. Most likely, drivers with a height of 180 cm and below will be really comfortable in the car, and for those who are taller, I would highly recommend trying on the car in the cabin, so as not to suffer later. According to the review, there are no complaints about the new Hyundai Santa Fe, the mirrors are moderately large, they give a good view back, plus the dead zone monitoring system helps. Racks do not interfere, and between them and the mirrors there are small windows that give more visibility.

In Russia, the new Hyundai Santa Fe is available with two powertrains, a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with 188 hp, which is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, and a 2.2-liter 200-horsepower diesel engine, which is already paired with a more modern eight-speed gearbox. We had a car with a gasoline engine on the test, to be honest, with such a look, Santa Fe was sure that it would go accordingly, but at least with this engine, it does not go particularly impressive, 10.4 seconds to 100 km / h. The car is comfortable for a smooth, even ride at city speeds, here the engine and gearbox behave predictably, and if you want to speed up a little, there is a pause immediately, after which the car starts to accelerate, and not as dynamically as you expected, and the engine howls on a high note, and , it seems to me that at some point you can even hear in this sound: “Save, help, they are raping!”. On the highway at 125 km / h on cruise control, the engine also hits this high note, which is understandable, as the tachometer needle approaches 3500 rpm. All in all, the gasoline-powered Santa Fe isn't bad for slow, steady driving, but in a more dynamic mode, it's already out of its element. Diesel with a modern gearbox should be more interesting, and it seems that more than 50% of sales of the previous generation Santa Fe in Russia were diesel. Yes, a gasoline engine is not very interesting in terms of consumption, in the city, with not so big traffic jams, it can easily eat 12-13 liters per 100 km, on the highway I got somewhere around 9 liters. Plus, such a car can be refueled with 92-octane gasoline.

All vehicles come with HTRAC all-wheel drive, a Hyundai-developed all-wheel drive system in which the vehicle's electronics independently distribute torque between the axles depending on driving style and surface conditions. There is a separate button that blocks the rear wheel drive clutch, but it is unlikely that anyone will climb the Santa Fe off-road, yet it is more of a city car, and the minimum ground clearance of 185 mm is proof of this.

There are no special questions about the management of the new Santa Fe, the car understands the driver well and accurately follows the turn of the steering wheel. The suspension copes well with large irregularities, but small ones, albeit gently, are still transferred to the cabin, despite this, I would say that the car is quite comfortable in this regard. In terms of sound insulation, everything is also not bad, according to this parameter, Santa Fe may well give odds to competitors, although, of course, it is far from the level of premium crossovers.

Koreans have learned how to make really beautiful cars, and the new Hyundai Santa Fe is a confirmation of this, it remains only to work on other things, and they will be able to compete with German manufacturers. Of course, it is sad that the Koreans made sacrifices in the ergonomics of optics for the sake of Santa Fe design. I also don't like that, by installing a huge 7-inch screen on the dashboard, they did not give the driver access to control part of the main media system options from it. A gasoline engine and a six-speed gearbox suggest only unhurried movement, and the fuel consumption of such an engine cannot be called modest. But in terms of materials, ease of fit and visibility, there are no questions for the car, as well as for the work of the suspension and sound insulation, we add here a spacious interior, the option of ordering a third row of seats and we get a good family crossover. Prices for the new Hyundai Santa Fe start from 2,099,000 rubles for a car with a gasoline engine and from 2,429,000 rubles for a diesel engine.

There is an intelligent cruise control with a traffic jam assistant, it also works adequately, sees obstacles well and is able to completely stop the car, and then move off on its own. On the track, cruise control showed its best side, the only thing is that after a slight slowdown due to the car in front and rebuilding into a free lane, the car does not immediately start to pick up speed, so you should use the gas yourself and then reactivate the cruise. Of course, there is also a dead zone tracking system with illuminated icons in the far corner of the mirrors and a sound alert when changing lanes. There is also a warning system when leaving the parking lot in reverse, the rear view camera displays an indication of the movement of approaching vehicles with an audible alert. The rear view camera is not the best in terms of picture quality, but with markings and together with parking sensors, this rather big car can be safely parked.

Of course, it is sad that the Koreans made sacrifices in the ergonomics of optics for the Santa Fe design. I also don't like that, by installing a huge 7-inch screen on the dashboard, they did not give the driver access to control part of the main media system options from it. A gasoline engine and a six-speed gearbox suggest only a leisurely movement, and the fuel consumption of such an engine cannot be called modest.

There are driver assistants, and in sufficient numbers. There is a system for keeping the car in the lane, by the way, very adequate, it sees our markings in most cases and taxis as necessary.
